Woman escapes with minor inuries after being trapped in A46 crash

Lincolnshire Police say that a woman was found trapped in her car following a collision on the A46 which closed the road. Traffic built up on the A46 Lincoln bypass following the accident yesterday, May 3. Officers received reports of the incident at 8.35am, and temporarily closed the road between the A15 Riseholme roundabout and the A57 Carholme roundabout.

Traffic going in and out of Lincoln city centre, as well as going from the Burton Waters area towards Riseholme, was affected. In an update, Lincolnshire Police has now confirmed that a woman sustained minor injuries during the accident. The force said: "We were called on May 3 at 8.35am to a collision on the A46 between the Carholme and Riseholme roundabouts.

There was a two-vehicle collision involving a silver Ford Ranger and a black Toyota Corolla. : 'We are devastated' - martial arts school pays tribute to woman who died in Sleaford "A woman in her 50s was trapped inside the Toyota when we arrived on scene.

Officers safely removed her from the vehicle. She sustained minor injuries in the collision. The road was temporarily closed in in order to contain the scene."

Photographs from the scene showed the extent of the accident, with the black Toyota being pictured upside down at the side of the A46 next to the silver truck.

Congestion on the road had cleared by around 10am after Lincolnshire Police reopened it.
